Marcel
In shock for a few days after a hot, hot, hot gig.
When Circus Krone went on sale through the internet, everybody went grazy because of getgo, go…
So what happened when we arrived on saturday in Munich after travelling 800 km, listening all the way to the Stones, The Band, van Morrison, Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen, there were tickets for sale…should we call home and ask if they come or not, we didn’t do it to our regrets.
But this action gives Stones fans hope for the Vredenburg (Holland) gig.
In the night we went to Alfonso’s bar, we meet Arno from Koln and went to the Rennbahn.
The owner only played Stones and we had a blast of time, also finding a bootleg we never saw before.
The "Circus Krone" went in the 80’s always to Holland for circus acts, so I know the sign and didn’t remember that is was soooo small. When the crowd came in everybode get’s a big smile on his face. Nowadays it is a wooden circus-building, and that makes it hot, hot, hot.
After a funky band, I phoned home and told them that it was almost beginning, after some nerveus calls home the Stones opened with “Jumping Jack Flash”. The music was perfect, the band was perfect and the crowd was fantastic.
“Tumbling Dice” was o.k.
"All Down the Line" was steaming, rocking and putting the place on fire.
”Sweet Virginia" was like a stormy summer.
Then the song that I think everybody loved the most: "Worried About You", tears in my eyes and thinking about my girl sitting at home with to much pain?
Mick is singing with a fantatic voice: "Sometimes I wonder Why...". And Ronnie is waiting next to the piano for BABIEEEEEEE.
"Stray Cat Blues" with Darryl going crazy with a bass solo, I have seen him doing that on heartbreaker during Voodoo Lounge/B2B in Bad Bentheim
"Everybody Needs Somebody To Love" got everybody dancing.
"Dance Pt" is as funky as Sly and the family Stones...
"That's How Strong My Love Is" I think was very special on the end of the song when Mick was walking on the left side of the stage and went crazy, like Otis
"Going To A Go Go" reminds me on my first record “Still Life”after that, the Stones became a way of living fore me.
Mick did the introductions. And for the first time Charlie get the microphone from Mick and didn’t know what to do with it
"The Nearness of You", a dream for my mate but for me a little bit unknow.
I loved “Before they make me run” and after all the critics on Keith in Tell Me I was convinced he is still the best.
“It's Only Rock’n Roll” but I liked it and didn’t need Bono or the rumored Bruce Springsteen
"Can't You Hear Me Knocking" I supposed Ronnie was sleeping during the harmonica part, but suddenly he was there and Keith asked him at the end I think: “not so loud” because Ronnie was flipping, went grazy and treated us with something nobody ever heard before.
“Honky Tonk” with Lisa playing a game with Mick.
“Start me Up”
"Brown Sugar"
"I Can't Turn You Loose" as encore was nice, I saw Mick doing this one in MSG 26th of September and that was nice, but after this song the place was on fire and I was in a shock.
The best gig in my life, I’m looking forward to see them in Circus (Stockholm) and for rehad I go to Oberhausen coming friday……
Thanks Bjørnulf for the beautiful site and hope to meet you one time maybe with Hans Oosterbaan and Arno from Koln.
When you visit the Netherlands come and see Albert’s Stones museum….
“Catch your dreams before they slip away”
